PhD Thesis
After five years of study, perhaps you have the feeling that there is still so much to learn. Perhaps you want to participate in the exploration of new frontiers in science? Maybe you love the heated battles with problems and the intense joy of discovery? It is then natural that you will continue your studies with a PhD. thesis. The Department of Mathematics offers the opportunity to do a thesis in each of the disciplines taught, namely:
- Mathematical analysis (head: Catherine Finet 〈Catherine.Finet(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Numerical analysis (head: Christophe Troestler 〈Christophe.Troestler(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Research Team in Mathematics Education (head: Stéphanie Bridoux 〈Stephanie.Bridoux(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Algebraic geometry (head: Maja Volkov 〈Maja.Volkov(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Mathematical logic (head: Christian Michaux 〈Christian.Michaux(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Effective mathematics (head: Thomas Brihaye 〈Thomas.Brihaye(at)umons.ac.be〉)
- Probability and statistics (head: Karl Grosse-Erdmann 〈KG.Grosse-Erdmann(at)umons.ac.be〉)
All teams participate in training activities of the graduate colleges.
To register, the simplest is to contact the professor of the Department with whom you wish to make your thesis. He will be glad to answer your questions and guide you through the paperwork to complete.
